For AliExpress again? ! The EU made a formal request.

According to the Spanish newspaper Abesai, on Monday, the European Commission sent an official information request to AliExpress, asking it to report the measures it has taken to fulfill its “obligation to protect consumers from the sale of counterfeit drugs”. According to the requirements of the latest Digital Services Law of the European Union, Brussels requires the online sales platform to provide more information about the measures it has taken to comply with the obligations related to risk assessment and protect online consumers. As reported in an EU statement, the European Executive Committee is paying close attention to the spread of illegal products such as counterfeit drugs recently.

AliExpress must respond to the questions of the European Executive Committee before November 27th. Once the European Executive Committee has assessed its situation, it can take measures or even start formal procedures, and impose fines on possible incorrect, incomplete or misleading information upon request. In addition, if the platform fails to respond within the specified time, Brussels may impose a regular fine for its failure to respond within the specified time limit.
